Migrating a core system — and changing how people worked, not just the software

Challenge

The business invested significantly in transitioning from its established Trimble system to a new core management platform, simPRO. With that level of investment, the priority was to realise the full benefits of the new platform rather than simply replicating old processes within new software.

Approach

Damian led the migration, overseeing system configuration, data transition and user adoption. Crucially, the focus was on adapting how the organisation worked — not just the tools it used. This was delivered through structured change management, stakeholder engagement, clear communication, user training and ongoing support to ensure new ways of working were understood and embedded across a nationwide workforce.

Outcome

Operational teams transitioned to the new system and new ways of working while maintaining full service capability, with the change delivered through structured adoption rather than disruptive switchover.
